Who are the Alzheimer’s Society
Alzheimer’s Society works toward a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. They achieve this by providing help to those living with dementia today and offering hope for the future.
As a society, they are comprised of people with dementia, caregivers, trusted experts, campaigners, researchers, and clinicians. They are there for everyone living with dementia.
They are the UK’s largest collective force of people with unparalleled knowledge and over 40 years of experience addressing the most significant challenges facing people living with dementia
Alzheimer’s Society Dementia Support Services
Alzheimer’s Society has a support line, online and print information, expert dementia advisers, and an online community. Through these services, they offer advice and practical guidance for the next steps as people living with dementia navigate the hardest times of their lives.
Through this vital work, they aim to enable people living with dementia to enjoy more fulfilled lives. From the moment someone is worried about memory loss, they can turn to Alzheimer’s Society for help.
Funding dementia research
In addition to the vital help Alzheimer’s Society provides, they also bring hope. They understand that investment in research is key if we want to change the landscape of dementia in the future. That’s why, right now, they are supporting the world’s brightest minds and funding over 600 research projects to find the best ways to achieve early diagnosis, innovate care, and develop targeted treatments.
Why do they need your support today?
Dementia is the most significant health and social challenge of our time. There are currently an estimated 900,000 people in the UK with dementia. Many are undiagnosed and facing the realities of their condition alone. With the help of their supporters, the Alzheimer’s Society is changing that.
With your help, they can provide vital support to those who need it most and fund groundbreaking research to transform the future for everyone living with dementia.
Please watch this incredible video of people talking about their own experience of living with dementia.

Dementia Action Week
Dementia Action Week is an awareness-raising campaign. Each year, we work with individuals and organizations across the UK to encourage people to ‘act on dementia’.
The next dementia action week will take place from the 20th to the 26th of May 2024. In 2022 and 2023, Dementia Action Week encouraged people who are concerned that they or someone they know may be experiencing dementia symptoms to seek further help. We provided information on memory loss, advice on talking to the GP, and ways to cope with memory loss.
Throughout the week, we saw a 43% average increase in calls to our dementia support line from those seeking information and support.
